Ted's Birthday

Well Daddy is officially 27 years old! We celebrated last night at Uncle Brad and Aunt Mallory's house by eating a bunch of Arby's sandwiches, munchies, a cake I made, and ice cream. We were even able to get some decorations put up, compliments of my $2.99 Walmart birthday decorating special!

The pictures below dictate the highlights of the evening: Great Grandparents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, Lucas, and our niece and nephew.

Ted's Brother and Sister and the niece and nephew

Apparently this one toy, was more awesome than any other toy any of them had ever seen! Sharing starts early.

Lucas got to spend some time with his Grandma and Grandpa, and Great Grandma and Grandpa Sibley

Here's Lucas' cousin Emmy!

and his cousin Jaden!

Lucas has cut two big boy teeth and sits up on his own now. Those baby days are disappearing quick! Ted is on break from now until the end of January so Lucas will be traveling quite a bit around Minnesota and Iowa to see lots of family during the holiday season. Auntie Laurie gets home from Iraq in a few weeks and will be visiting Minnesota. We're very excited to see her!

A few pictures to show off how strong the little boy is getting!

Aw Mom! I'm "working" here!

Okay all done!

I can sit up and play like a big boy!

Halloween 2008

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's the cutest little Superman ever!!!

We had a lovely time at our first Halloween party on Friday night. Regions hospital even let Ted leave the ER a bit early so he could attend! It was quite a busy place with cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Grandmas, Grandpa's, Great Grandmas and Great Grandpa!

We enjoyed the kids, ate lots of food, and watched a little Garfield get his "Candy Candy Candy Candy CANDY!". Here are a few pictures below of Lucas with his Great Grandparents and cousins Emmy (a lovely lady bug) and Jaden (the cutest monkey ever).

Next year will be a bit more interesting when everybody has teeth and can get into more trouble!

Superman DOESNT NEED KISSES Mom!!

Daddy serves as the spotter for some very important flying

Good catch Dad

Wow that was tough work

I spent some time Grandma and Grandpa Sibley and Grandma Haines

and my cousins Emmy and Jaden were there too!

Don't forget Grandma!

We all played together for a little bit before I started to get sleepy.....

We sure had a super time and Mommy and Daddy have finally started to finish some of that candy we all got. Can't wait to start trick or treating in a few years!

Lucas is 6 months old!

Our little baby boy is certainly growing up!

This has continued to be a month of firsts. Mom's first day back to work while worrying about Lucas (he's in great hands with Auntie Mallory!) and our first little bit of big boy food. Lucas dropped below the 5th percentile for weight in the last month so it was time to get going on some big boy food! Here are the pictures from his first try!

Mom needed to test it first...

Want some Daddy?

I guess it's not so bad Mom!

Or maybe it is??

We don't have to like it, but he is getting bigger and bigger every day. We haven't been nearly as religious about getting our photos and updates up as quickly as before Erin went back to work, so Lucas' 6 month picture is a tiny bit late!

Along with all of those firsts.... the first taming of that crazy Colombian hair. Mom wasn't too sure about this... and I'm still not! Nobody likes to see their baby start looking more like a little boy, whether they're 6 months old, 6 years old, or 16 years old... so we had better start getting used to it. Daddy and Grandma went along and he did a great job!

Before....

During and after....

It certainly wasn't his first bath, but he's been very into sitting up here lately so sitting back in his bath seat wasn't doing it anymore. He doesn't sit well enough to be on the slipper bottom of the tub yet, but a little improvising in the bath seat is working rather well!

We look forward to a family Halloween party on Friday and can't wait to show you more pictures!!!

The Apple Orchard and Pumpkin Patch

What better way to start out your first Minnesota fall season than a little trip to the apple orchard and the pumpkin patch!!

We headed out early this month to Emma Krumbee's Apple Orchard in Belle Plaine, MN.

SO much more fun than last year when we had to hide from all of the strollers because they made me sad. A few photos....

Lucas hung out in the pumpkins....

and he hung out with his mom too.... and his Daddy!!

We had a wonderful day as a family. We enjoyed live music by from a little old man who played children's songs and enjoyed apple pie, coffee, and even a little ice cream.

We stopped by the pumpkin patch on our way home and picked up a Daddy Pumpkin, Mommy Pumpkin, and even a little Lucas Baby Pumpkin.... that the crazy squirrels in our backyard ate... but is was a valiant attempt at festivity.

We hope our visit this year was just the first of many that we enjoy as a family. Halloween here we come!
